Elena F. Flagg, MD

 

Dr. Flagg earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and completed her Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Rheumatology at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia. She is a board certified Rheumatologist. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Virginia Society of Rheumatologist, Williamsburg/ James City County Medical Society and the Medical Ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation, Williamsburg Chapter. Dr. Flagg is married with three children. She enjoys running, photography, travel and spending time with her family.

Laila Rahbar, MD

Dr. Rahbar received her B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her M.D. degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in Internal Medicine, as well as her fellowship in Rheumatology at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. After fellowship she joined VCU rheumatology faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and practiced Rheumatology at McGuire VAMC for three years prior to joining our practice. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Rahbar is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Virginia Society of Rheumatologists.

She and her husband, Ben, have four children, Amelia, Declan, Emery, and Brecken. She and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling and cooking.


Misty M. White, FNP

Misty has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Christopher Newport University and a Master’s of Science of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a highly qualified clinician with over 20 years experience working as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Medicine and then joining our Rheumatology practice 10 years ago. Misty is an autonomous member of our health care team who is qualified to work independently and in partnership with the physicians to make direct decisions regarding our patients. She is a licensed FNP certified through ANCC, a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Virginia Society of Rheumatology. She is also a member of The Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals where she completed the Postgraduate Rheumatology Training Program. Misty has two sons and enjoys quilting, fishing and nature.


Marylou Vallone, ANP

Marylou has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Russell Sage College. She earned her Master’s of Science degree along with her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Marylou is a highly qualified clinician with 36 years experience working as a registered nurse for 20 years and then becoming an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She worked in Emergency Medicine at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, New York and then worked as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine for 10 years. She is a licensed ANP certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; a member of the Virginia Society of Rheumatology and the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals. Marylou is married with four grown sons  and grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, traveling and outside activities.    


Barbara Ellis, ACNPC-AG

Barbara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Campbell University. She earned her Master’s in Nursing from Walden University with a nurse practitioner specialty in Adult Gerontology Acute Care. Barbara has spent the majority of her career working as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care. Before joining our practice she worked for Riverside Doctor’s Hospital as a nursing supervisor. She is a licensed ACNPC-AG certified through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses association; and a member of both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American College of Rheumatology. Barbara is married with three sons, and three granddaughters. Since moving to Williamsburg from Georgia, she has enjoyed learning all about the history in our area. She enjoys art, horses, and the outdoors.
